Trying to watching finals live. Both phone app and Apple TV app say they are having technical difficulties. If your app can’t handle it put the finals on YouTube!

It works when the ads play. Then it makes you restar the app so you have to watch the ads all over again. Embarrassing.

The only reason to have this app would be getting notifications of when events are live. The only pushes i get are for articles I couldn’t care less about. I have notifications turned off for all but live events but i think they have their options mapped wrong or some other basic issue

Please don’t tell me you don’t show the surf forecast for the current contest because you want me to click everyday to see if the contest is on. Shame, just show the detailed forecast easily.

App crashes, won’t show stream and I can never access my Fantasy.

Obviously we appreciate the stream and being able to follow this live but geez man everytime I go to watch on my phone I gotta watch an ad every 3 minutes. That I can barely, but the fact that it’ll cut the stream and I have to restart the app makes me just give up and not watch. Then I try to watch on Samsung tv app and it’ll just crash the app for no reason. Is there not a tech stream that reviewed this and can fix? It’s been going on forever.

Every update MORE advertisements. Just add a paid tier. Then the app can run without all the add data downloading and our personal info uploading. Please, I’ll pay for it.

This is simple. I shouldn’t even have to explain this, but most people enjoy sports and surfing when they can in this age of technology, which is often not live. When getting on the app the results are automatically seen in many different ways. You display the winner on the front page. You can see the heat numbers even when blurred out. People want to watch not knowing the results!!!!! This app ruined the experience for me again in what would have been an exciting finals to watch. Fix this ASAP!!!

Gets old having to watch the same ads over and over just to get to content. With events, stick with ads during breaks versus forcing them when you start the app. So much room for improvement.

Genuinely the most broken advert-riddled junky streaming app ever. Reminds me of why surfing is ruined almost every time I use it.

Playback is problematic for an app who’s primary purpose is to display surf contests. Ads force the screen into portrait mode while watching in landscape. When ads end, you’re stuck in portrait mode and then when switching to landscape, the screen blacks out, with audio remaining. Usually, correction will require closing the app and then rewatching the same 3 advertisers’ tiresome ads, again. I’d just watch on YouTube but they don’t broadcast on finals day, which I get. Please fix the playback on the WSL app if you’re going to make that the primary viewing option. Unless, of course, you’re beholden to ESPN+ and trying to influence us over there. That won’t happen. I’ll pay by watching the ads, but not more than I have to.

When watching the contest and using Airplay or when already watching the contest using Mirror feature from iPhone to MacBook Air, when the advertisement come up, it changes from full screen to regular mode like holding iPhone on your hand. So when turning the iPhone again so it goes back and Mirroring Full Wide Screen mode, the screen goes black, with audio but unable to see anything. Try many times to no luck, to finish watching Margaret River Pro. Any attention to this little misshap will be much appreciated.

Horrible app. So hard to navigate. All i want to do is look at event schedules and for some reason this is difficult!

The app is buggy and hardly works for the one feature anyone has it for, fantasy surfing. This is what DEI will get you.

Super frustrating when you have to change your brightness and you have to watch all six advertisements again. Must do this about 15 times watching an hours worth of the contest I think I’ve watched more advertisements than actual surfing on this app. Terrible, get it together WSL.

This app is GARBAGE. It’s so annoying that you stop streaming on YouTube after Quarterfinals and force us to watch here. Every time I move my phone, or go to reply to a text, or do anything else with my phone, the stream bugs out and I have to watch a minute of ads again. This is so frustrating when we’re in the middle of a Finals heat…shame on the greedy WSL pigs!

A useful app for a great sport league, but the authors really need to figure out the stream logic when you exit the live stream and return. It looks like code confusion around picture in a picture that leaves you with two streams playing simultaneously resulting in an app restart.

If you going to let men surf against women, then eliminate categories…everyone surfs against everyone…

Lots of issues with app videos. I’m always watching ads and then the videos don’t work. Or my live feed disappears and I have to rewatch ads to get it back. Updated iOS.

Excellent coverage of my favorite sport. Great information on the athletes. Keeps me informed of all the events and standings. Just excellent coverage of the sport.

Why is it so hard to login and stay logged in? Wouldn’t it just simplify things to only get points when the surfer advances. The heat winner

Will be watching a video landscape and goes to a commercial in goes to portrait. After the commercial is over and goes back to video I rotate phone to get back to landscape and screen goes black. Nothing I do gets video to play again. I close app and have to search for where i left off and remember to not go back to landscape or it will do the same thing. Been this way for year now. Buggy!

Inconsistent reception… stream cuts out .. freezes.. sticks on ads.. Needs fresh anchor announcers.. look forward to having the guest surfers come in the booth.. they add a lot of current knowledge about the sport.. Judging is and has always been stacked.. format is preferential and leaves too much of an empty programming the back half of the year.. is that a cost saving demise? Long boarding ? I’d rather watch paint dry.. water boil.. your last leadership flushed true surfing down the toilet.. LA is no wave to host a final.. the 2-3 foot waves only cater to the air moves and tiny frames.. they get really boring.. I could go on and on but it’s all negative, and I don’t want to waste any more time.. Going to the beach .. and watch true surfing…

Notifications don’t work. The only reason to have the app is to keep up with when events are on and heat times and it doesn’t do any of that. USELESS!

- don’t show who won the contest if you are going to offer replay. Most people will know the result of the heat if they see the winners name. - your app crashes all the time, especially with the double app promo before every vid.

Please fix this app. This is the only way to watch WSL live content and half the time I watch there are problems all over the place and it’s been going on forever. Quick example if you watch a reply heat which I do all the time because these events run at any hour of the day or night, once the heat gets to a commercial break it will break the full screen and for the rest of the heat you will not be able to go full screen. Sometimes when choosing a heat reply it won’t even start. Some will start some randomly won’t usually the ones I want to watch won’t start. Sometimes you will get double audio and have to restart the entire relay which means watching every set of ads you put on there. The ads never mess up. They always work perfectly so at least we know where the priority of ensuring the app is operational. I can also see the reviews are littered with negative comments like these and I can see nothing is being done. So that tells me and everyone else… they don’t care

Live action does not play. Every time I try to,watch live action, I have to sit through the same commercials (they play fine) but then the screen stays blank for the live action!🤪

First of all there is way to many ads and I would like to be able to go to different parts of the app while I watch. You guys should also put surf movies on there to watch. P.S. Please stop overscoring the surfers that are from the country that the contest is at.

I love being updated about surfing

When rotating for full screen, I frequently encountered frozen black screens without ability to exit. Scrolling back to same spot in videos forces me to watch several extra ads, then it will crash again. I can’t even watch videos sometimes, just impossibly frustrating. Once, it was stuck playing ads endlessly. App crashes too often.

This app is just pure rubbish, using the website on a browser on a phone is just easier, doesn’t need updating every 18 hours and is responsive. Using the fantasy part of the app is just horrific, slow, doesn’t give you the info you want and hard to navigate. Avoid this rubbish app.

Errors, reboots, no ability to look at fantasy while viewing the contest which this app used to support. Poor streaming quality. For fantasy it would be nice to have an outline of the rule changes for each event like when picks lock for instance as this changes each year and could be displayed above picks as a reminder. Love the product of surfing and this used to be my favorite app on my phone but it has gotten worse not better.

Fantasy surfer doesn’t work. Asks to verify email to log in and never sends the email

i can’t even see if i’m typing anything it never lets me make picks that stay and i still am guessing i’m typing

Third event in a row where I can’t pick a fantasy team even though they are just in round 1. Ads every time you switch from one section back to the event stream, even though you just watched ads one min ago. I watch on YT now so I don’t have to see the repetitive ads. Also, lots of bugs still. I keep looking for updates that fix these, but it seems WSL is busy trying to figure out new ways to say Teahupoo

So many in app ads you’d this this was their ONLY source of income, horrible user experience fighting for any actual content aboard this ad bloat ware. The in app experience feels like a cancerous website with untrustworthy intentions

Way too temperamental and screen regularly goes blank.

The WSL has a lot of function but it continually logs me out if my Fantasy account. This last time it has completely lost all trace of it and I am unable to log back in even though I run a league. Complete failure on the part of this app considering this is the only way to leave a review or find help.

I love the ability to watch the WSL competitions but the reason I first got the app and the reason I would most likely share the app is the fantasy surfing portion. However I have had SOOOOO many problems accessing that page. Half the time it is just a blank screen and when there is a deadline to make your team it is really frustrating to stay in the competition when you drop down to last place because your app won’t work. Please fix this

Love all of the events and I know you have a ranking section but it would be good if after every format on the WSL app that you put the position that the people were in at the time of the heats so like football, they do it basketball they do it I just think there should be a a rankings when we see them and we know what they need in the heat to get by john

Why do you show winner and also heat scores as you’re look to watch? Is goal to have less viewers

It used to be possible to browse heats without knowing who won. That is no longer the case.

I tried everything. Reinstalled the app. Restarted the phone. Audio doesn’t play during commercials. Audio plays during heats ONLY if phone is not in full screen Audio does not play in full screen After it stops playing, it doesn’t even play out of full screen. Love WSL. Big fan, but hate the app. There’s no where to get help for this issue.
